ODEI Taskforce Input

What key elements should be included in GRCC's definition of Equity?

For examples of equity definitions, please see this folder.

Sample Responses:

  • Removal of barriers. Access to services.
  • Everyone has equal value and the opportunity to succeed.
  • Equity means taking action to provide the resources, support, and opportunities necessary for each individual to succeed and feel accepted
  • The result of becoming whole or being restored; crafted experience and opportunities that address a problem according to its needs (especially for marginalized communities) instead of adapting a one size fits all approach; equity is flexible and must ebb and flow with meeting the needs of the individual in front of you at any given time; equity is fair and just practices that allow all people to reach their full potential and thrive; changing structural and systemic inequities that exist as a barrier to success for some groups of people
