Objective and Process

Objective

The ODEI Taskforce was formed to facilitate the assessment of GRCC’s DEI services and programs, identify areas to strengthen, and to develop more impactful and inclusive initiatives. The primary purpose of the ODEI Taskforce is to identify ways in which the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) can support administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community partners to infuse ‘belonging’ into the everyday work of GRCC.

To achieve the goal, we will actively seek feedback from our faculty, staff, students and community partners. Our aim is to ensure that the revised mission statement, goals, and work of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are directly informed by the diverse identities, perspectives and experiences of our campus and community members.

Additionally, we will use the feedback to create an updated job description for the Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, reflecting the role's responsibility to effectively support and advance our renewed DEI objectives and to clarify what equity and belonging mean at GRCC.

In Summary we are charged with:

  • Revising the mission statement and goals of GRCC’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Updating the position description for the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer.
  • Creating GRCC’s definitions of equity and belonging.

Process
