TRiO / Student Support Services: Summer Research Hub
The goal of the TRiO/Student Support Services (SS) Program is to increase the retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the transfer process to 4-year institutions.
"encourages community college students from a low-income backgrounds and/or who are the first in their family to go to college... to make the transition to a four-year university an achievable goal, and is targeted specifically to students interested in science, technology engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This program is highly competitive with only 14 available spots, priority is given to students studying science, technology engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Deadline: February 1
"to promote and reward excellence in student research in the Social Sciences: history, political science, economics, geography, introduction to gender studies (GST200 only), sociology, and anthropology. The GRCC Social Sciences Department annually selects a student research paper for special recognition in the form of the Student Research Paper Award."
