Do you know the difference between a biography and an autobiography?
A biography is a book written by an author about another person's life.
An autobiography is written by an author about him or herself. In other words, the subject of an autobiography is the life of the person who wrote it.
And, then there are memoirs - a biography based on personal knowledge. Usually a memoir is an autobiography, but, if a person (spouse or child) writes a biography, it may be considered a memoir.
For biographies and autobiographies in print format, look for number ranges 920-921 on the bookshelves.
This is different than what you might be used to in public libraries where biographies are often shelved separately.
