Other GRCC Sources of Multimedia
Faculty should contact their Liaison Librarian for assistance with finding closed-captioned media or copyright-free images. One of our media vendors, Alexander Street Press, offers a Find My Film service where you can ask them to add the title to their AVON / VAST Academic Video Online streaming video service.
GRCC Academic Departments
Many academic department offices have their own multimedia collections. Media collections may be available with a textbook license from a textbook publisher. Contact your department head to learn of limitations re: using those resources if you are NOT using the textbook.
GRCC Media Technologies
GRCC can host streaming videos on its Google servers (one for students and another for faculty/staff) in the case where a vendor does not have a streaming platform. In those cases, librarians work with the vendor to acquire an encoded file that can be uploaded to the servers, rather than ripping a DVD which results in lower audio and video quality.
GRCC Caption Request Form
Simon Kittock, 616-234-3846, is GRCC's captioner. Contact him with questions you have about the captioning process.
