The Hewlett Foundation supports open educational resources (OER) in an effort to reduce the cost of high quality education. The goals for the OER initiative at Hewlett include:
Promote educational access for K-12 schools.
Reduce the cost of college (free online courses and textbooks).
Support the people and institutions promoting and creating OER.
