Transferring an ebook to your portable device

Ebook Central and Ebsco eBooks use Adobe Digital Editions to transfer downloaded ebooks to supported devices.

To transfer document(s) to an eReader:

  1. Connect your supported device to your computer and launch Adobe Digital Editions. You may be prompted to create or enter your Adobe ID.
  2. Adobe Digital Editions automatically detects your device and may offer to authorize the device with your Adobe ID.
  3. The device now appears as a new bookshelf in the library. Drag and drop the downloaded document(s) you wish to transfer.

Ebook Central App

Your can use the Bluefire Reader app to view, read, and download Ebook Central ebooks.

Initial setup

  1. Create an Ebook Central Account
  2. Create an Adobe account if you don’t already have one:

On Your Mobile Devie

  1. Download the Bluefire Reader app from Google Play or iTunes
  2. Open the Bluefire Reader app and authorize it by entering the Adobe Online ID you created in step 2 (you should be prompted to authorize automatically)
  3. To add books to your Bluefire Reader, open up your mobile's browser and go to the library's Ebook Central page to search for titles
  4. Log into your Ebook Central account
  5. Browse or search for an eBook
  6. Get into the full text of the eBook, and click on the Download button at the top of the page
  7. You will be guided through the streamlined 3 step download flow for mobile

Ebsco eBooks App

Your can use the Ebsco eBook App to view, read, and download EBSCO ebooks.

Initial setup

  1. Create an EBSCOhost account by clicking Sign In on the Ebsco Ebooks page.
  2. Create an Adobe account if you don’t already have one

On Your Mobile Device

  1. Download the EBSCO eBooks app from Google Play or iTunes
  2. Find your library and sign in to with your EBSCOhost account
  3. Search and browse to find the titles you're interested in
  4. Download an EBSCO eBook by clicking on the "Download" link on the search result page
  5. Select your preferred checkout period and click "Checkout & Download"
  6. Sign in with your Adobe ID when prompted
  7. The title automatically opens in the EBSCO eBooks app
  8. Begin reading the title in the app, bookmark your place for later, and return it to the library's collection when finished
