Linking Library Resources into Blackboard: Ebook Central

Populate Blackboard courses with a variety of Licensed Library Databases.

Ebook Central (ProQUest)

Ebook Central is a great source for electronic Course Reserve content because this vendor provides multiple user access for most of its titles - meaning that more than one reader can access the content at the same time. Ebook Central titles can be identified both with a RaiderSearch Catalog search - as well as the Ebook Central home page. New Ebook Central content is added regularly; similarly, older titles are weeded from the system. Check the links you create each semester to ensure that the title still is available.

Many Ebook Central titles can also be downloaded to computers and other devices; follow the screen prompts to download the appropriate app for your device.

Link the entire book: Locate the title in RaiderSearch Catalog. Click into the full bibliographic record, then right-click the [View this Book] link and [Copy Link Location.] Paste the URL into your Blackboard. Note that each link should start with GRCC’s http://0- prefix.

Link a chapter or page:  Search and select the book chapter or specific page you wish to link. Click the [Share Link] icon, then copy the URL that appears in the pop-up screen.

Paste the URL into Blackboard. Note that each link should start with GRCC’s http://0- prefix as shown:
